Under the TFL LUL Nominee BCV & SSL Ltd framework agreement – Emico have been awarded the lamp conversions for 5 sites on BCV and SSL lines.

The asset stabilisation is achieved by replacing the T12 lamp and control gear within the existing luminaire housing, (mainly Churchouse trunking) replacing the wiring and associated protective devices.

Emico then carried out instantaneous load testing of each lighting circuit that has been modified. The loads per circuit were monitored before and after conversion. The results are then used by LUL to submit load application for the load reduction on both the LU and OLBI supplies. In some cases this resulted in LU saving up to 4 kilowatts per day on the assets changed out giving energy cost savings of up to £3,500 per annum.

With asset stabilisation projects the main task is to ensure that the work is undertaken with minimum disruption to the travelling public and Emico utilised innovation in installation practice and access to maintain the project standards.
