Emico is well aware of the value of an effective, reliable fire detection, suppression and extinguishing system. We’ve been designing and installing them for many years and pride ourselves on being at the forefront of this lifesaving technology.
Whether it’s upgrading a rail station fire system or upgrading building fires systems, Emico focusses on the operational requirements to keep people safe and to allow the asset to be operated throughout the project. Emico often faces the challenge of proposing a solution to the client without loss of operations and resulting in all of the building fire system being transferred to the new system at the end of the project. This is all achieved whilst maintaining and interfacing often with an obsolete existing system, ensuring that all occupants have a reliable means of fire detection and staged evacuation throughout the refurbishment. Close collaboration is required at all times with the client’s fire officer to ensure the safety of employees and the public.
Emico are the go-to team when it comes to fire safety systems. Here are some examples of what we design, build and maintain: Conventional two wire systems, Analogue fire detection and alarm systems, Networked analogue fire detection and alarm systems.

- Linear heat detection systems;
- Automatic sprinkler systems;
- Hydrant systems;
- Extinguishing systems;
- Watermist systems.
Emico has completed over 35 separate fire safety projects in the last four years and holds LPC accreditation to allow us to certify fire systems designs and installations. From the installation of new fire detection and suppression systems at Upminster and Ealing depots, to the refurbishment of systems at Waterloo and London Bridge stations, Emico has the experience and skills to support such cutting edge projects. Our fire team is currently working on the upgrade of the Paddington station fire system.
Today, the many thousands of passengers using Whitechapel Station daily can do so in safety. Neasden - When this crucial piece of infrastructure on the Metropolitan line was refurbished, Emico were appointed. We were required to install a fire safety system befitting of London Underground’s busiest depot. We provided first class fire hydrant mains and dry risers. London Bridge - This busy London Underground station, handling countless commuters every day, required an upgrade to the mechanical and electrical systems, as part of the development works being carried out at London Bridge Place, the ‘mini-shard’. The fire safety systems required a major overhaul. Emico has extensive experience in railway station infrastructure, so we were able to design and install state-of-the-art fire detection and alarm systems, and additions to the existing sprinkler system.
